Darwin Supercars - 2026

Bump In Day

Race 1

Race 1 saw both our cars start in the top 10.  Early signs were positive before Car 261 suffered mechanical issues when brake function brought an early end to the race.
Car 26 started in seventh position and had started to push hard and by lap 8 had moved up to fourth place and was eyeing a podium before a gearbox failure of third and fifth gear ended the push resulting in a final position of seventh.
The team got busy with a brake system change in Car 261, reverting to our tried and tested Stolz Fex 4 Callipers and 350mm rotors for race 2.

Race 2

Race 2 saw only Car 261 make the grid with the gear box repair unable to be completed in time.  With Car 261 having the new larger brakes all focus was on Dilan moving up from his rear of grid starting position, and he didn't disappoint with steady movement through the field.  With one lap to go, Dilan had moved Car 261 up to ninth position only to have side contact occur when passing a slower vehicle ending his race.  Despite the movement a disappointing outcome given the hard work that had gone into car and race craft from the driver.

Race 3

The Team worked hard overnight and had both cars ready for the grid of race three.  Due to limitations in spares, the gear box repair could only facilitate a part functioning unit with no third gear.  Despite this the race commenced with Car 261 in 25th and Car 26 in 26th position.

Both cars got an excellent start off the line and had made multiple positions by turn 1 before settling into a chase to continue the move up the field.

By the end of the race Car 26 had moved up 17 positions finishing 9th and Car 261 moving up 15 positions to finish 10th.

After the race, Team owner Evan summarized the weekend as having some positives with having two cars compete and finish race three but we needed to learn from multiple areas to improve our performance.   The closing statement left no doubt that improvements in performance and standings were being chased, with a promise to return to Hidden Valley with both cars in 2027 as there was "unfinished business we needed to deal with".
